J.Hinos Lost and Deflated Panda in the City 2016
Annenberg Space for Photography shows the city of LA just how important fine photography is. You have ground-breaking exhibits like "CUBA IS," which focused on the outskirts of Cuban life through the visual power of the camera. I have been fortunate to see that show and many other great exhibits at the space.
Not just a space for photography they also launch informative lectures on a wide array of subjects. The exhibit on view, "Not an Ostrich: and other images from America's Library," pinpoints Anne Wilkers Tucker's 500 images from over 14 million. Housed in the Library of Congress, their historical importance is staggering.
With an upcoming exhibit entitled "Photo Ark," which seeks to document every species living in zoos and wildlife sanctuaries, the space has set out to educate through photography.
